In which Amy updates Empty Cage

Well I decided to be productive today and reuploaded Empty Cage. I had been in the process of updating it when my hosting expired so I had to finish updating the pages I had ready. I added a few things, but mostly I got rid of a lot of old, useless stuff. The site needs a major overhaul, but at least it has a functional layout. =)
A while ago I finally managed to get a new layout up at Alexiel.net, but today I updated the links page with a few new links and a couple of new buttons. I got rid of some of the ones I didn't like and maybe I'll make a few more the next time I update. If you are interested in a link exchange, you can comment here.

Also updated is Papercup Heaven, my collection of old layouts for Alexiel.net. I've been putting off adding the layouts for 2010 until I did a new layout, so I finally sat down and did something new today. It features Helena Bonham Carter, who I think is fabulous.

I've also added a few new sections to Artificial Sweetener and fixed the problem that kept Haunted from showing up properly.
So our router died and it took a few days to replace it. It wasn't much of an issue and on some level it just went to show what a time suck the internet really is. Of course I spent the time reading rather than being productive in any way, but I think the point still stands. =) I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day and all.

I don't know if any of you are fans of "That Guy With the Glasses", but if you are, maybe you can answer a question I have about the videos. Lately they videos on the site have been doing this weird thing where the audio is fine, but the video lags and freezes unless I move my mouse around. I usually let the videos pre-load thinking this might help, but it does not seem to do anything. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm working on a new layout for Alexiel.net that I will most likely post tomorrow. Also, I guess I can now announce the opening of Artificial Sweetener. I'm still working on some of the articles, but it's a slow process I'm afraid. In some ways I think Misa is a bit like Bella Swan, which can make her difficult to appreciate, but the difference, I think lies in the way she is characterized. Bella is like the ultimate avatar--bland to the point that she can be anything so the reader fills in a lot of the detail, but she is suppose to be an overall positive character, perhaps even an ideal character (the fact that I wanted to strangle her in the first 40 pages not withstanding). Misa, on the other hand, is just kind of hard to pin down. She's clearly not a "good" person, yet in many ways, she is not that different from your standard heroine who would do anything for the person she loves (even if the reason she loves him is just because the plot says so). A lot of her characteristics are not admirable, but some of them are certainly sympathetic. Anyway, I should save this for the website, but check it out if you like.

In which Amy celebrates her Birthday

So today I had my birthday but I ended up with a cold. =( My mom made me a yummy cake though so that was nice.

In which Amy updates Alexiel.net

Alexiel.net has a new layout and almost all of the sites have been re-uploaded. The layout is not anything special, but at least it is something different. Also I finally updated the layout and some of the content on Wayward Romeo.

I am going to work on updating my links this week so if there is anybody who I've missed who would like to do a link exchange, let me know. Also, I've begun work on my Misa site and I've decided to change the name from Sugar High to Artificial Sweetener. That means I'll need to do a new layout, but I should probably do that anyway.
I baby sat over night last night so I am exhausted. I don't think I will last until Midnight. In any case, far well 2010! You kind of sucked. I hope everyone has a great New Year!

In which Amy celebrates Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope everyone had a great day.

This year's Doctor Who X-mas Special was a little... disappointing. I need to watch it again when less is going on I think. There were at least a few rather funny moments that I liked.

In Which Amy Updates Redhead Dancing Girl

Although I have not updated the content, I decided that I wanted to change the layout. I certainly liked the other layout in general, but it did not have enough room for text, the header was sort of big, and the text was too small. I'm really pleased with the new layout because I tried to concentrate on using awesome colors (using the tool Color Suckr, which is awesome IYC) and a beautiful image (which I had to edit a lot to clean it up). It's far simpler than my usual layouts, so I want to know what people think. I might start making more layouts like this one.

I'm still working on my Masochist updates and I hope to have it completely ready by the end of November. I just finished the volume summaries and DAMN is that story sad. I mean, really. READ TOKYO BABYLON NOW, PEOPLE!!!
I have a job now. I'm kind of nervous because I've never done this kind of work before (making phone calls), but I've never done a lot of things that are required for other jobs so I'm willing to give it a shot. The pay is pretty good, so I think I will be able to save enough to go to China on my own by next year. I'm very excited. I know I've promised to do a few things for people and I will do my very best to make sure I get them done before I get too caught up in things. I'm sorry I haven't been able to do them this week, but I've had a lot of stuff to do to prepare, especially shopping since I am the family shopper.

This brings up the topic of my websites. Since I will be working 40 hours a week, I don't plan on having a lot of time for my sites. I am afraid that I might have to drop out of the amassment Rebuild Challenge. It's funny because I've already rebuilt two sites this year and am about 1/4th done with another, but I just did not work on the one I signed up to do. I was thinking I would have half of November and all of December to work on it, so I didn't get started on it. We'll see though. I might not be able to do everything I planned, but maybe I can do everything I signed up to do.

On the topic of my current site rebuild, Masochist, I've finally finished all the Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle stuff and have moved on to Tokyo Babylon. I'm writing volume summaries and I'm on story about the girls using the phone to use occult spells. I don't know, but I find the part about Seishirou dealing with dirty phone calls hilarious. I think besides Clover, which I just love, Tokyo Babylon is CLAMP's most well written story.

Question: Since my updates will probably be more sporadic, should I post what I have and add as I go, or keep the site the way it is and post the update when I am done?
